OpenAI prepares GPT-5.5-Cyber model for select cyber defenders only

OpenAI is developing GPT-5.5-Cyber, a frontier cybersecurity model that will not be available to the general public. CEO Sam Altman says it will first roll out to a trusted group of 'cyber defenders' to help institutions strengthen their cyberdefenses.
